Bodega

Bodega opened in early 2013 as St. Pete’s culinary scene was starting to hit its stride. Since those humble beginnings, the ‘little box’ in the EDGE district has become a local mainstay, attracting national media attention and making first-time customers loyal fans after just one visit. A few months after doors opened, Bodega owners Debbie and George Sayegh came to Hype for a custom website.

Web Design

We worked closely with George and Debbie to develop their initial website, ensuring the online experience could boast the same character and spirit that the brick and mortar did. This initial project the beginning of a long-term partnership that included social media management, photography, graphic design, and overall brand management.

Social Media & Photography

Tasked with managing Bodega’s social media channels shortly after their doors opened, our team focused on applying a 360-degree approach to the account from start to finish. Regular photoshoots paired with custom graphics and consistent image treatment have contributed to a loyal, expanding audience. Committed to keeping up the momentum, our team created fresh, engaging content that served as a resource to Bodega’s current and prospective customers.

Branding

Fast forward to July 2017, George and Debbie were expanding to a second location in Seminole Heights, Tampa and they tasked us with refreshing their brand identity to gear up for the expansion. We wanted to keep the elements they were known for – like the logo, mark, and colors – while also integrating some depth and flexibility. To do this, we created assets that speak to Latin culture, food, values, and the brand’s playful personality.

We developed different layouts with type to create a fun and inviting brand and added new colors for vibrancy. Ultimately, we turned the Bodega brand into something that goes beyond a logo. These changes have since been integrated into Bodega’s second location in Tampa and across all platforms. Bodega’s owners continue to see great success in the Tampa Bay area, and we couldn’t be more thrilled that they entrusted us to help get them there.
